This is my interpretation of Van Gogh’s ‘ Starry night over the Rhone ‘.
This is not my usual style as many of you would know however, I want to try and experiment more, push myself to the limit and see what I can produce.
When I accepted this commission I knew I could never replicate Van Gogh’s painting but I could put my own twist on the piece.
So, instead of using oil paints I chose to use acrylic. This would therefore give a completely different texture, smooth instead of 3D.
When framing I wanted a clean fresh white mount with the additional black rim because it would help define the painting and bring depth.
