Ballet Shoes

A2 Watercolour framed commission July 2019 for a 15th birthday present.

Firstly, I chose to paint in acrylic, however this did not seem to work for me. The colours did not blend the way I needed them to. Therefore after some diliberation I chose to restart but this time use watercolour instead. After I made this decision paining was easy, everything fell into place.

This has taught me not to give up, we can’t always do something first time and make it perfect. I am very happy with the final result, hard work does pay off.

I chose to leave the background plain because I believe the vibrancy of the shoes have a voice of their own.
